Instructions for Using PowerPoint

Loading the PowerPoint Presentation
(Note: You only have to complete this procedure once. Next time, simply
click on any presentation and it will load automatically)
- Click on the presentation (in the left hand column) you would like to load
- If it does not automaitcally open the program, click on [Pick App...]
- The program required is Powerpnt.exe. Use Browse to find this file
Stand alone, Win 95 computers, commonly in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Powerpnt.exe
- In the space provided, type the location eg [C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Powerpnt.exe] then click OK or enter
- The PowerPoint presentation will now load
Using PowerPoint
- The main features of PowerPoint can be seen by slowly moving the arrow pointer over the
five small boxes in the bottom left corner of the PowerPoint frame.
- Click on [Slide Show] to run the presentation.
- Use the left mouse botton to move forward & the right button to move back.
Press the Esc key to exit the presentation
- Click on [Notes Pages View] to view notes attached to each slide
Printing
- A range of printing options are available via the File Menu (Print)
- At the Print What Menu, consider either 6 Slides Per Page as a handout for
multiple slides or the Notes View which gives one slide per page including Speaker
Notes.
- Choose One Slide Per Page if making overheads.
- Click Black & White (not pure black & white) if you are not using a
colour printer.
Return to DrugNet
- Click the DrugNet symbol in the top left hand corner to the slide show to return to the
DrugNet PowerPoint index page
- Press the escape key (Esc) to exit the presentation.
- Use the Back button (in the top left hand corner of the screen) or minimise the
PowerPoint presentation
- You are now back in the DrugNet browser window

Internet Explorer Instructions
- Click on the PowerPoint file (identified by pp at the end of the link)
- Use the left mouse button to move through the presentation.
- Use the 'Browse' index to jump to other slides in the presentation.
- Press escape key (Esc) to exit the presentation.
Full Screen viewing
- Click the Right mouse button anywhere on the presentation and select Full Screen
- Progress through using the left mouse button.
- Use the Right mouse button if you want to move between slides.
- Speaker notes for each slide are also available on-screen. Select Speaker
Notes when you press the Right mouse button. Alternatively, go to the 'Edit'
menu & click 'Edit Slides'. Then go to the 'View' menu and click Notes
Page. You can also print Notes View (see Printing instructions below).
- Press escape key (Esc) to exit the presentation.
Printing
